Cabyll-Ushtey
As a water-horse figure, the Cabyll-Ushtey sits within a much wider Celtic and British tradition of dangerous shapeshifting equine water-spirits, including the Highland each uisge and kelpie and the Welsh Ceffyl Dŵr, all of which share the basic pattern of luring victims toward or into water through an inviting or deceptive form.
Dunnie
As a type it belongs beside the widespread water-horse and trick-pony figures of the British Isles, but with the danger dialled down: where related beings drown their riders, the Dunnie merely humiliates them.
